Dark Green Optimism at Building Green

What could a more grounded and constructive environmental optimism look like? This question frames the closing keynote at Building Green in Aarhus by Flemming Rafn.

April 14, 2026

We are entering a period where city, nature, climate, culture and meaning are increasingly entangled. Much of the knowledge is already available, and many of the solutions have been developed, yet implementation continues to move too slowly while established systems and business models remain difficult to shift.

The keynote explores the space between knowing and acting. It argues for an architecture capable of shaping new narratives, imaginaries and prototypes for a viable future, and for using design to make complex transitions tangible, spatial and possible to act upon.

April 23 15:00 at Main Stage.
